Laundry Dropps- Review and Giveaway

Laundry Dropps were invented by way of a cotton mill outside Philadelphia that created the chunky yarn used in those oversized sweaters you saw at the mall in the 80s. In fact they owned that mill, and quickly saw the need for a new kind of detergent to clean the sweaters that were getting yellowed and stretched by the old laundry routine. So they invented one that the leading consumer product publication ended up rating number-one in superior cleaning ability. It also ended up cleaning other fabrics really well, too.

And they have done some amazing things with that same detergent from the cotton mill. Not the least of which is arrive in pre-dosed dissolvable pacs that cut down on all the latest environmental no-nos. Like water waste, landfill-bound packaging, runoff pollutants and other cruel and unusual punishment to the land. Not to mention your clothes.

My Experience:

We were sent two travel pouches of Laundry Dropps to try in our laundry. One was the Fresh Scent pouch and one was the Scent and Dye Free pouch. I was very impressed with the minimal packaging used to package and send the Dropps as well as the environmentally friendly pouches the Dropps were in.

I was really glad they sent us one of each pouch, my hubby really likes his clothes to "smell" clean and my daughter is allergic to fragrances and dyes, so it worked out well for us.

I used the Fresh Scent Dropps on my husbands two loads of work clothes- a really tough test for any laundry detergent. I was really impressed with the ease of opening the pouch and how handy the little Dropps actually are. I was a little concerned though, our HE washing machine has a little slot on the side where the detergent is to be poured and this little Dropp was not going to fit in that slot. I closed my eyes and tossed the Dropp directly into the washer with the clothes and closed the lid. Then I stood back and waited.

The first thing I noticed is that the Dropp detergent doesn't bubble or foam or really look like much of anything in the washer. I was skeptical, wondering if that little Dropp could really get all those clothes clean- they were REALLY dirty.

So after the spin cycle ended, I lifted the lid and I was pleasantly surprised with the very light scent I detected from the clean clothes. I took them out piece by piece and I soon realized that that one little Dropp really did clean all the clothes in the washer.

Once the clothes were dry- I took them to my hubby to see if they would pass his "clean smell" test. They did- and with flying colors. He was really impressed as well.

The load of my daughters clothes that I washed with the Scent and Dye Free Dropp were just as clean and soft as if I had used the really high priced organic detergent we usually use. I did wait to give my approval until after I let her wear some of the clothes to see if they passed the "allergy" test. They did- no rashes or itching or sneezing!! A home run!!

Questions and Answers with Laundry Dropps:

Are Laundry Dropps safe on all fabrics?
The specially formulated liquid detergent in each dropps pac provides a powerful clean for all fabrics, from silk to fine cotton. We like to think of dropps as being mighty gentle.

How many Dropps should I use?
The half-ounce of detergent in each dropps pac is so super-concentrated, it cleans as much as a capful of the watered-down kind. And for really big loads, two dropps will do the trick.

I don't see any suds are my clothes really getting clean?
Lots of suds leave behind lots of residue, right there on your “clean” clothes. At dropps, we’ve designed a deep-cleaning detergent that gets down and dirty on your laundry without a lot of hullabaloo.

Are Dropps safe for babies' and childrens' laundry?
Because it’s an enzyme-free formula, dropps contains no harsh irritants and results in super-soft clothes. Try dropps Scent + Dye Free, all the dropps cleaning power without fragrance or dyes.

Do I need to use a fabric softner with Dropps?
Fabric softeners make clothes feel soft by coating the fibers with a slippery film. dropps lets fibers breathe with a nice, gentle wash, so fabrics retain their shape and distinctive soft feel naturally.

Will the pac dissolve?
The unique dropps pac completely dissolves when it hits your wash water and drains right out with the rinse cycle. No waste, no mess.

Will Dropps work in cold water?
Cold water saves energy and cleans just as well as hot. The average household could save $65 a year by switching from hot to cold water in the washing machine.

  2. I wondered how these worked on dirty work clothes...and on He washers...do they have the He logo on them? I think these would be awesome for my MIL, but her warranty specifies that she can only use detergents with the He logo...
